INGLEWOOD – Respect.
Such was the theme of Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh’s post-loss news conference Sunday: Respect for his team, banged up and short-handed, for pushing the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas Chiefs.
Respect for those get-’er-done Chiefs, who took the lead for the first and final time with 6:04 left in the fourth quarter of their 17-10 victory, improving to 4-0 this season and extending their winning streak as guests of the Chargers to 11 games &ndash

Rafael Perez: George Gascón’s arrogance is finally catching up to him
30-09-2024 03:52 via ocregister.com
It’s not looking good for George Gascón. The results of the primary and recent polls show he’s likely to be unseated as Los Angeles County District by Nathan Hochman. Much of it is his fault: he has demonstrated a lack of common sense and poor leadership skills.
In a recent interview of Gascón that I participated in along with members of the editorial board for this publication, Gascón appeared to be on the defensive the entire time. He didn’t take responsi

Campaigning against ‘gouging’ makes for good politics, but lousy policy

California’s most prominent political figures, Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newsom, have devised similar strategies to offset consumer price increases from what they label as corporate greed—call it the California anti-gouging strategy.
Vice President Harris has aimed her anti-gouging strategy at grocery stores. The details are thin, but Harris claims her anti-gouging regulations will force grocers to bring down food prices, even though reportedly groceries live of

Rams QB Matthew Stafford moves into NFL’s top 10 in passing yards

CHICAGO – For the historical weight of the moment, it was a pretty innocuous play.
Backed up to their own 11 in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 24-18 loss to the Chicago Bears, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford sent running back Kyren Williams in motion to the left. After the snap, Stafford slung it out to the back for a screen pass in the flat.
Williams went 5 yards and failed to pick up a first down. But with that short gain, Stafford passed Eli Manning for the 10th most passing yar

LOS ANGELES – It was just another Tuesday practice in the middle of Red Mountain’s season, and wide receivers coach Diego Hernandez had no possibility to prepare for the show Ja’Kobi Lane unfolded before his very eyes.
He ran a simple out route, Hernandez remembered, his spindly limbs arriving to his destination before his quarterback could deliver. The ball arrived late, as Lane was already creeping towards the sidelines. So the kid threw his hands behind his back, toe-tapped

Your reaction has some merit based on the myths and stereotypes about aging.
